Kawartha Pine Ridge Women is a voluntary professional association representing women and minorities who work in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. We are a grassroots coalition of employees who belong to the following local organizations:
- Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE)
- Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO)
- Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF)
- Ontario Principals' Council (OPC)
- Administrative and Leadership Group(ALG)
Kawartha Pine Ridge Women was formed to give women and men who work in KPR the opportunity to come together for a common mission: to promote the interests of women and minorities who work in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.
Why do we need to promote the interests of women and minorities in 2014?
We have seen many improvements in women's rights and the rights of minorities since our grandmothers' day. While women and minorities make more money and hold more leadership positions than ever before, white men continue to dominate the highest paying jobs and most top-level leadership positions. While women and minorities have achieved more than in previous generations, full equality has not yet arrived.
